Wind energy Nordex founds new company in Ireland

Nordex SE is extending its structures in the growing Irish market: following the establishment of service offices in the counties of Sligo and Tyrone in 2009, the wind power specialist has now founded its own company in the country.

Nordex Energy Ireland Ltd. is based in Swords, to the north of Dublin, and is planning to open a further service office in County Cork at mid-year. With this strong local footprint Nordex is now able to react more directly to customer demand and handle projects in Ireland even more efficiently.

Nordex erected the first wind farm in Ireland in 2002. The country currently offers considerable development potential of several GW.

Nordex Energy Ireland Ltd is a logical step in our continued drive towards high quality support for our customers and the wind energy industry in general within Ireland.

The localisation of service technicians and spare parts bears testament to this commitment. We are very excited by this new venture and look forward to growing our activity levels in this important market“, says Bryan Grinham, Managing Director of Nordex Energy Ireland Ltd.

At the beginning of 2010, the number of Nordex wind turbines installed around the world since 1985 passed the 4,000 mark. Of the globally installed nominal output of 5.67 GW, some 52% is accounted for by the multi-megawatt class, which was launched in 2000.
