Wind power Vestas receives 58 MW orders in Poland

Vestas has received two orders for delivery of 29 wind turbines of the V90-2.0 MW wind turbine with a total capacity of 58 MW. The wind farm orders have been placed by Amon Sp. z o.o. and Talia Sp. z o.o., which both are subsidiaries of Polish Energy Partners S.A.

The wind turbines will be delivered and installed in £ukaszów and Modlikowice, respectively. The wind farm sites are located in the south-western part of Poland which is one of the most promising regions in relation to great wind potential.

Delivery of the wind turbines is scheduled to be completed in 2011. The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, a VestasOnline® Business SCADA system and a five-year service agreement.

“It is with great pleasure we announce this order today”, says Kenneth Kolvits, Vice President of Sales, Vestas Northern Europe in Poland. “Polish Energy Partners S.A. is one of the leading actors in Poland with a long experience of development and operation in the wind power business. Our strong presence in Poland will be further enhanced by Polish Energy Partners S.A. choosing Vestas’ products for these projects.”

With a total installed capacity of 58 MW and an estimated annual production of 165 GWh per year, the £ukaszów and Modlikowice wind power plants will save the environment from an annual emission of more than 110,000 tons of CO2 compared to the average electricity in Poland where the main power source is coal.
