WindPower Innovations Signs Letter of Intent with Wind Sail Receptor

WindPower Innovations, Inc. (PINK SHEETS: WPNV), a wind energy infrastructure and smart grid solutions company, announced it has signed a Letter of Intent with Wind Sail Receptor, Inc. to produce new, highly efficient, technologically advanced, next generation wind turbines.

“WindPower Innovations is pleased to be aligning with Wind Sail Receptor to offer what we strongly feel will be the next generation of reliably efficient, state of the art wind turbines.”

The two companies intend to establish a “Strategic Alliance” with which WindPower Innovations will provide wind turbine generators and electronic components to Wind Sail Receptor. The terms, pricing and specifications will be mutually agreed upon in a more formal agreement to follow.

“WindPower Innovations is pleased to be aligning with Wind Sail Receptor to offer what we strongly feel will be the next generation of reliably efficient, state of the art wind turbines,” says John Myers, President and CEO of WindPower Innovations, Inc.

“After visiting Wind Sail Receptor’s facilities in Boulder City, Nevada, and viewing their wind turbine blade demonstration, it was clear that Wind Sail Receptor’s technologically advanced design and our permanent magnet generators and electronics is a perfect fit. The concept is brilliant and we are excited to be able to be part of the project.”

Ian Griffiths, Chief Technical Officer of WindPower Innovations, goes on to add, “The new generation of wind turbine will pay off with increased efficiencies as a result of Wind Sail Receptor’s innovative and technologically advanced blade design, coupled with permanent magnet generators, electronics and grid-tie inverter from WindPower Innovations. The Permanent Magnet generators and a grid-tie inverter can now produce a constant 60Hz ac power over a wider band of operation than traditional wind turbines, from 20 to 125% of rated power, with a unity factor of 1.0 (“Unity”). Conventional wind turbines only have one or two power synchronization peaks (±5%) that can produce the 60Hz ac required by the grid. We are sincerely delighted with this alliance.”

Since its inception, Wind Sail Receptor, Inc. has been working to invent wind-energy systems that redefine conventional wisdom about wind energy technology.
