EDF Energies Nouvelles commissions a new 26 MW wind farm in Scotland

The wind farm will generate the equivalent of the consumption of approximately 20,000 households. The Burnfoot Hill wind power project has been developed and built by EDF Energy Renewables.

This joint venture, owned equally by EDF Energies Nouvelles and EDF Energy, was set up in 2008 to serve both companies’ shared ambitions in the UK renewable energy market.

This new commissioning bolsters the presence of EDF Energies Nouvelles in the UK, lifting the Group installed capacity in the country to 227.2 MW gross (163.2 MW net).

With operations in Europe and North America, EDF Energies Nouvelles is a market leader in green electricity production. With a development focused on wind energy for several years and more recently on solar photovoltaic, the Group is also present in other segments of the renewable energies market: small hydro, marine energy, biomass, biofuel and biogas. In addition, the Group is expanding in the distributed renewable energies sector.
