EDF Energies Nouvelles has commissioned a 20.7MW wind farm in France

EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning, late December 2010, of the Corbières Méditerranée wind energy plant, which has an installed capacity of 20.7 MW.

Located in the Aude department, the Corbières Méditerranée wind farm is equipped with nine wind turbines supplied by German manufacturer Enercon, each with a unit capacity of 2.3 MW.

“The development of the Corbières Méditerranée wind project is an outstanding achievement which demonstrates the dynamism of our French teams,” said Yvon André, EDF Energies Nouvelles Chief Operating Officer France. “The wind farm production provides the yearly electricity consumption equivalent of more than 20,000 persons.”

This latest wind power project highlights the continued wind energy projects development efforts conducted by the Group in France. At 31 December 2010, EDF Energies Nouvelles had developed and built 511.3 MW in gross capacity in France, including 122.2 MW from the DSSA1 business.

With operations in Europe and North America, EDF Energies Nouvelles is a market leader in green electricity production. With a development focused on wind energy for several years and more recently on solar photovoltaic, the Group is also present in other segments of the renewable energies market: small hydro, marine energy, biomass, biofuel and biogas. In addition, the Group is expanding in the distributed renewable energies sector.

EDF Energies Nouvelles, 50 %-owned by the EDF Group, is listed in Euronext Paris since November 2006 (code "EEN", ISIN code: FR0010400143).
