GE Invests In Wind Power

GE Energy Financial Services, a division of General Electric Co., and Bankers Commercial Corporation have jointly purchased the 150 MW Alta Wind I wind farm in Tehachapi, in Kern County, California.

The wind farm has 100 GE 1.5-megawatt SLE wind turbines. The Alta Wind I farm is the initial phase of the Alta Wind Energy Center, a 3,000 MW project. It has the potential to supply electricity to 1.3 million California homes.
