ReVolt Technology Adds Battery Industry Veterans

ReVolt Technology, a technology company, which has developed a rechargeable Zinc-Air battery, today announced that Dr. Richard Doisneau, Mr. Norm Allen and Mr. David Dorheim had accepted appointments as members of the advisory board of ReVolt Technology.

With more than 30 years in the battery industry Dr. Richard Doisneau is an experienced senior manager and technical expert. Prior to his retirement in 2010 Richard served as Chief Technology Officer for the Saft Group. As an employee of Saft since 1974 Richard worked in a number of senior roles including Site Director for France, Japan and the UK and Director of the Industrial Battery Group. Richard was instrumental in the development of Saft’s new technology portfolio including its successful Lithium Ion technology.

“I am pleased to have this opportunity to work with ReVolt in development and commercialization of its rechargeable Zinc-Air technology,” said Mr. Doisneau. “The company has a great team and I am looking forward to working with them as a member of the advisory board.”

Norm Allen has more than 25 years experience in the battery industry. Prior to joining ReVolt as a member of the advisory board he served in a number of senior roles including President of the New Products and Technology Division at Duracell, Inc. At Duracell he led product development of Lithium Ion, Nickel Metal Hydride, Lithium MnO2, Zinc-Air, and alkaline battery systems. Prior to joining Duracell, he held product development, manufacturing, sales and marketing positions in the Zinc-Air and automotive battery divisions of Gould, Inc.

“ReVolt’s ZFAB architecture may provide the opportunity to realize a number of significant performance advancements in the development of Metal-Air batteries,” suggested Mr. Allen. “I am pleased to be involved with a company such as ReVolt focusing on this important technology and its application in the emerging energy storage market.”

David Dorheim has more than 35 years of experience developing, producing, and marketing energy products in the battery, fuel cell and renewable energy industries. Early in his career, Mr. Dorheim gained experience in the energy industry at Black & Decker and General Electric. Over the last 20 years, as an entrepreneur, Dave has been the CEO or a Board Member at nine energy oriented, early stage companies. In 1990, he formed AER Energy Resources, a Zinc-Air battery development company, where he served as President and CEO until 2002 following a successful IPO. After leaving AER he served as President and CEO of Neah Power, a Seattle based fuel cell development company.

“Based on my previous experience with this technology I know and understand the challenges involved. From my discussions with ReVolt and now as a member of the advisory board, I believe they have a unique approach and I look forward to supporting their commercialization plans for this breakthrough technology,” said Mr. Dorheim.

The addition of Richard, Norm and Dave to ReVolt’s advisory board is timely and welcomed," stated James P. McDougall, CEO of ReVolt Technology. "Their experience successfully leading companies from development stage through commercialization with multiple energy storage technologies is perfectly matched for ReVolt’s future challenges and opportunities. The experience set and leadership they bring will help ensure the company’s technical and commercial success."

ReVolt Technology is developing a Zinc-Air battery technology that will transform the global market for stored energy solutions. ReVolt’s technology performance attributes provide the highest-energy density (up to 3 times that of Lithium Ion), low-cost, safe and green. These attributes pose both a disruptive influence on the competitive landscape and significant step-change in performance for some consumer electronics, electric vehicles and grid-based alternative energy storage solutions.
