Plugless Power will be available initially to strategic partners with Chevrolet Volt models in their EV fleets including corporations, municipal governments, utilities and small businesses. Evatran is actively seeking corporate partners for retrofit installations in late 2011 and early 2012. Aftermarket installation of the Plugless Power system is completed by a certified installation partner. The straightforward and simple process involves:

Vehicle Adapter Integration: A wireless charging adapter and small electronic module are mounted onto the vehicle, adding less than 10 pounds to the overall weight. These components are connected directly into the vehicle’s existing onboard battery charger.
Station Installation: Charging station setup includes installing a weatherproof parking pad at the vehicle’s primary parking location and a wall-mounted power module connected to a 240-volt line.
