REpower and EDF Energies Nouvelles sign wind power contract for 50 megawatts

REpower Systems SE has concluded a wind energy contract for the delivery of 25 wind turbines of the MM92 type with US wind farm developer enXco – an EDF Energies Nouvelles company. These wind turbines will supplement a previous order from enXco to supply the full capacity of the 102.5 MW Shiloh IV wind project located in Solano County, California.

In 2008 and 2011 REpower delivered wind turbines for enXco’s Shiloh II and Shiloh III wind farms. Together, Shiloh II, III and IV wind farms will have a capacity of 355 MW.

The MM92 wind turbines for the Shiloh IV wind farm have a rated power of 2.05 MW each and hub heights of 80 or 68.5 metres. Installation of the wind farm is scheduled for later in 2012. Afterwards, REpower will be responsible for service and maintenance of the wind farm for at least five years.

Andreas Nauen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of REpower Systems SE, says: “Since 2007 we have realised several wind farm projects with enXco in the United States. This contract is another sign of confidence in our technology and execution capabilities.”

“To date, we have installed or sold more than 600 wind turbines with a total capacity of over 1,200 MW in the US. The MM92 turbine continues to be installed in variety of conditions and grid requirements across the country. We are happy to be working with enXco again to build on the success we have had together on prior projects,” adds Steve Dayney, Managing Director of the US subsidiary REpower USA Corp.

REpower USA Corp., headquartered in Denver, Colorado, was founded in 2007. Since then, REpower wind turbines have been installed or sold in nine states across the USA to a diverse group of customers.
