Wind energy in Brazil: Ormazabal contract for Iberdrola wind farm

Ormazabal provide electrical engineering in Brazil, for wind farms of the "Projeto leilão 2010." Ormazabal Basque power company, has made a contract of around five million euros for Iberdrola Engineering in Brazil. The company will supply electrical equipment for wind farms of the "Projeto leilão".

Ormazabal will supply substation cells and cells of the wind turbines. It is medium voltage equipment for 144 wind turbines and 35 primary distribution equipment for substations were installed in the Brazilian states of Rio Grande do Norte and Bahia.

Ormazabal stressed the importance of this project that reinforces the group’s international presence, especially in Brazil, a wind power market with great growth potential.

Today, this company has a strong presence in Germany, Argentina, Brazil, China, Spain, France, Poland, Portugal and Turkey and is present in over 50 countries through subsidiaries and distributors.

Ormazabal, founded in 1967, is one of the most important suppliers of equipment and services for networks of medium voltage electrical distribution. Its headquarters are in Zamudio (Bizkaia), employs over 1,500 people and generates annual turnover in excess of 373 million euros.
