Offshore wind energy in Poland: Up to 10,000 MW of offshore wind power possible before 2030

The first offshore wind farm of several hundred MW in capacity may be constructed by 2019 at the earliest, according to PSEW’s expert Jaroslaw Pole.

Poland’s firms could build between 6,000 MW and 10,000 MW of offshore wind energy in the Baltic Sea in the 2030 perspective, wind power lobby PSEW estimates.

Some EUR 21 billion may flow through the Polish economy thanks to the construction of 6,000 MW of wind power capacity, the experts estimate.

PGE power group holds permits for construction of 3,500 MW, fuel group Orlen holds permits for 1,200 MW while Polenergia, owned by mogul Jan Kulczyk – 2,700 MW.
