Solar power is future of Bangladesh

German Ambassador in Bangladesh Dr. Albrecht Conze spoke at the inaugural ceremony of the company as the chief guest at Emmanuelle’s Banquet Hall, Gulshan-1 here in the city.

BANECO, a German-Bangladesh solar module assembling factory, started its operation in the country here Saturday, 13 October, 2012.

BANECO Solar Module manufacturing factory is an affiliation of JVG Thoma GmbH, Thoma Group of Germany to assemble high quality, more efficient and European Standard Solar Modules in Bangladesh.

Among others, General Secretary of Bangladesh Solar and Renewable Energy Association (BSREA) Mostafa Al Mahmud, Deputy Managing director of National Bank Ltd Mr. AKM Shafiqur Rahman attended the occasion as guest of honor. Media personality Sharmin Lucky was also present on the occasion as special guest.

Managing Director of BANECO Solar Energy Ltd Mr. A.K.M Mazibur Rahman delivered the welcome speech while Mr. Chowdhury Munir Uddin Mahfuz (Retd. District Judge), Advisor, BANECO Solar Energy informed the audience about the significance of BANECO’s solar initiative.

Chairman of BANECO Chowdhury Mugis Uddin Mahmud also spoke on the occasion. President of JVG Thoma GMVH Mr. Hans Thoma and Vice President Mr Ludwig Thoma, President of JVG Thoma GMVH Mr. Hans Thoma and Vice President Mr. Ludwig Thoma, who were present as guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Albrecht said the initiative is  positive step towards meeting the country’s demand for electricity. Solar energy is future of Bangladesh and it could be used in many ways is to resolve Bangladesh’s energy shortage. Energy efficiency is key to reducing poverty, he added.

President of JVG Thoma GMVH Mr Hans Thoma and Vice President Mr. Ludwig Thoma seperately explained about production of divverent solar modules, machinary and solar equipments.

Chowdhury Mugis Uddin said, “Eensuring electricity 24 hours in each and every house in the country should be the only policy.” “BANECO has a furure plan to export locally manufactured solar model beaides meeting the local demand,” he hoped.
