Ohio Veterans to Descend on State Capitol to Push for Clean, Homegrown Energy

On Wednesday, October 30th at 10:45am EST, veterans from across Ohio will join the energy security campaign Operation Free for a press conference at the state capitol. The veterans – many employed in the wind industry – will be visiting the capitol to inform legislators about the economic and energy security benefits of renewable energy sources and the existing Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard (AEPS).

Through the AEPS, passed with bipartisan support in 2008, Ohio is providing consumers with more secure energy options, creating clean energy jobs for veterans and saving millions through energy efficiency.  The clean energy policies in place are working and should be left to continue to attract clean, homegrown energy into the state. Continued support for clean energy policies nation-wide enhance the military’s mission capability, reduce energy costs borne by taxpayers, keep troops safer and strengthen our national and economic security.
