In the next 5 years, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tadzhikistan and Iran will be in the spotlight of the largest international players of solar energy industry.
On 16-17th of April 2015 Baku (Azerbaijan) will be hosting one of the key events in the field of solar energy – CISOLAR-2015 4th Inte.
According to the plans for the development of the energy sector of these countries, more than 600 PV plants with the total capacity more than 4,000 MW will be built in the region up to 2020.
In particular, in Azerbaijan, according to the state strategy of development of renewable energy, solar energy projects with a total installed capacity over 600 MW will be developed up to 2020. A number of pilot projects to be implemented in Kazakhstan by 2018 – PV plants with capacity of 200 MW will be built in different regions of the country. The same rate, Uzbekistan plans to achieve by 2019 plans.
However, the absolute regional leader in the development of solar energy could be Iran, whose government plans to build by 2018 around 3000 MW of solar power.
As expected, the delegation of the Renewable Energy Association of Iran will take part in the 4th International Conference and Exhibition “Development of the solar energy industry in the South Caucasus, Eastern Europe and Central Asia” CISOLAR-2015, witch will be held 16-17 April 2015 in Baku (Azerbaijan).
The organizers of the largest industry events in the region is the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources of Azerbaijan and IBCentre. CISOLAR-2015 will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan.

CISOLAR-2015 is a unique communication platform for decision-makers and business representatives for the development of solar energy projects in the region. CISOLAR-2015 gathers top managers of companies in the energy sector, heads of regional departments of global industrial companies, heads of industry associations and organizations, senior representatives of the authorities in the field of renewable energy, international financial institutions, key international experts in the solar energy industry, key regional and international media enlightening the industry development.
Over the past 4 years CISOLAR has become the main platform for business communication of the solar energy market players, whose activities are related to the operation and development of the new projects in the region of Eastern Europe, former Soviet Union countries and Central Asia.
Nowadays, Azerbaijan is a leader of innovations in the region and active development of new technologies in the energy sector. In particular, experts consider the market of solar energy in Azerbaijan to be one of the most attractive in Europe.
Moreover, excellent natural conditions in this region, the state support of the industry along with the legislative regulation have become an impulse to the development of solar energy in the region of Central Asia.
Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan intercept Ukraine’s attractiveness leadership in the field of solar energy projects development at the post-Soviet space. Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan are really promising in terms of projects development. Despite the complexity of the geopolitical situation, the market of small and medium installations is developing in Ukraine. Also is promising the market of small PV installations in Georgia. Mongolia is also quite an interesting local market, where the «Feed-in tariff» for solar energy is 18 euro cents/kWh. A solar thermal energy can play a special role in heat energy provision and conditioning in the region, and this question will be also discussed at the CISOLAR-2015.
