Wind power in Philippines: Guimaras wind farm with 27 wind turbines

Danielle R. Del Rosario, head, Corporate Affairs of Trans Asia Renewable Energy said the event would showcase the strong partnership of Trans Asia and its stakeholders in its desire to “bulk up the country’s generating assets towards sustainable electricity supply.”

The 54-megawatt wind farm in San Lorenzo, Guimaras is set for inauguration on March 27.

The Trans Asia Renewable Energy Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Trans Asia Oil and Energy Development Corporation, operates the wind farm.

The San Lorenzo Wind Farm showcases 27 wind turbines with a generating capacity of 2 MW each, and started delivering power to the grid on October 7, 2014, with the commissioning of the first three wind turbines.

Del Rosario said that since its completion, the wind farm was able to consistently deliver 100 percent of its capacity to the grid.

The blessing will be ushered in by a Eucharistic Celebration at 9 a.m., after which messages from representatives of the PHINMA and the DOE, the local government units will be delivered.
