Floating wind power winning cost argument

The fast-emerging floating wind power sector is winning the economic argument over its perception as a high-cost technology, led by the huge resource potential in deepwater water regions around the world, a new industry poll run by Make Consulting and Recharge has found.

Some 80% of those surveyed at a specially-organised Recharge forum, attended by over 100 delegates during the recent EWEA 2015 Annual Event in Paris, believe that wind farms in water depths of 60 metres and more will be a “key driver” in the industrialisation of floating wind.
