An exclusive event is headed to the Northwest

The northwestern region of the United States is thriving. Utility resource planning and replacement power (from retiring power plants) is setting the region up for significant wind energy growth, on top of growing renewable portfolio standard demand from Oregon and Washington.

To seize these growth opportunities the industry must lead important discussions and make critical decisions. It’s time to talk about how we can carve out an even brighter future for the region.  If you’re invested in or have ties to the Northwest, you won’t want to miss the AWEA Northwest Regional Wind Energy Conference next month in Seattle.

This conference will focus on how to continue wind’s growth. Educational sessions will explore topics like working with the new administration, regional demand for renewables, job creation in rural America, emerging markets, and a state policy roundtable.

The agenda is designed to address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the region. Check out the full agenda here.

Rachel Shimshak, executive director of Renewable Northwest, Dave Danner, chairman of Utilities and Transportation Commission (WUTC), and Dan Lloyd, economic development specialist at the Montana Governor’s Economic Development Office, will lead the feature session, a state policy roundtable.

This session will provide an innovative and interactive opportunity to communicate directly with state decision-makers. They’ll explore the policy, regulatory, and market activities, as well as any changes necessary for this transition.

Let’s come together in July to have conversations about the challenges in the years ahead and how we can work together to turn those them into clean economic development, real job growth, and effective transmission throughout the Northwest.
