American Clean Power Association

On January 7, the American Clean Power Association (ACP) notified and filed an application to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the transfer of the American Wind Energy Association’s (AWEA) standards accreditation, with an expanded scope. On February 16, the ANSI Executive Standards Council (ExSC) approved ACP’s application. ANSI published the scope in their Standards Action publication on March 5, for a 30-day public comment.

ACP is issuing a call for participation in its standard development activities. ACP currently has three consensus bodies: Wind Technical Standards Committee (WTSC), Wind Workforce Standards Committee (WWSC), and the Wind Environmental, Health, and Safety Standards Committee (WEHSSC). ACP is requesting participation in standards development groups from all interested parties. Specifically, a call for participation for:

  • Wind Workforce Standards Committee: Membership category – general interest, subject matter experts/consultants, and training/education developers/providers,
  • Wind Environmental, Health, and Safety Standards Committee: Membership category – consultants, general interest, and producers.

Membership applications are online for the consensus bodies: WTSC Application, WWSC Application, and WEHSSC Application.

Standards play an important role in everyday life. Volunteer today! Please email [email protected] to learn more about ways you can participate in standards development for clean power.
