Cubico commissions 132 MWp photovoltaic (PV) solar power plant to supply Google in Arkansas

Cubico Sustainable Investments has launched commercial operations of a 132 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) farm in Arkansas, which will supply Google with green electricity.

The commissioning of the Crossett photovoltaic (PV) farm has expanded Cubico’s US operating portfolio to more than 880 MW, the company said in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday.

The solar farm will be managed under a long-term power purchase agreement with Google, supporting the tech group’s goal of using carbon-free energy 24/7 across all grids the company operates on by 2030. Output from the plant will be used to power Google’s data center facilities in the Midwest.

Cubico purchased the Crossett project from UK developer Renewable Energy Systems (RES) in late 2022, along with another PV scheme in Mississippi. At the time, he said both projects have long-term power purchase agreements with regional cooperative utilities.
