Suzlon receives 50.4 MW wind power order from Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals

The wind farm projects, utilising 24 wind turbines of Suzlon’s S88–2.1 MW wind turbine, will be set up in wind farms operated by Suzlon in the Rajkot and Surendranagar districts of Gujarat. This is GSFC’s fifth order with Suzlon and is scheduled for completion and commissioning by September 2011.

The new wind energy projects will increase GSFC’s total wind power capacity to 123.4 MW. GSFC currently has existing projects of 73 MW in Gujarat located in the Kutch and Porbandar districts. GSFC’s 10 MW project at Bada village in the Kutch district is the company’s first wind energy project to be successfully registered under the UN Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), earning carbon credits. Other projects are in the process of being registered.
