TerraSmart Showcases Innovative Technology at Intersolar North America

TerraSmart will be showcasing their innovative ground screw technology. The ground screw can be used and integrated into variety of solar energy racking systems including but not limited to fixed ground mounts, solar trackers, and concentrated solar power systems. The versatile flange interface on the ground screw accommodates a wide range of pipe options commonly used in the solar industry, and compared to concrete footings, which can take hours to set, ground screws can be installed in just minutes. Up to 120 ground screws can be set in one day with the proper installation equipment and experienced installers.

TerraSmart will also be introducing their newly designed ground mount structure, TerraFarm. TerraFarm incorporates the latest mounting and patented foundation technology to create the quickest, most cost-effective one source ground mount application in the solar energy industry. TerraFarm eliminates unnecessary sub-contractors and enables the solar integrator to manage less by working with one company from the foundation to rails and everything in between.

TerraSmart is installing TerraFarm on Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the first solar ground mount on the United States Naval base. This TerraFarm 300kW solar ground mount array will be supporting approximately 1,100 Solar World panels on an old soccer field that will be feeding energy into a new aquatic center on the island.
