Vattenfall: Wind Power Projects at Four New Sites

In Germany, we have received consent for a new onshore wind farm named Forst Briesnig. The 250 MW Pen y Cymoedd wind energy project in Wales has been granted development consent. In Denmark, we are planning a new wind farm at Tamholt in Jutland. Recently we were also were granted all permits for Beaufort, a yet to be planned wind farm with a capacity of 340 MW in the Netherlands.

"Wind power is a prioritized investment area for Vattenfall. Wind is one of our six energy sources and during the coming 5 years we will invest another EUR 4,2 billion in wind power projects in Sweden and in the rest of Europe", says Anders Dahl, head of Vattenfall Renewables.

These plans mean that we will also employ another approximately 200 people with wind power competence.

Today we operate about 40 different wind farms with around 900 wind power turbines. In total, they generate 3.7 TWh, enough electricity to supply about one million households. In offshore wind, we are already the world’s second largest player.

Vattenfall also have around 60 wind power projects in different planning stages throughout our markets and we will continue our work to further improve and expand our wind power generation.
