SANYO Electric Vehicle Solar Charging Station to be Unveiled at Showstoppers CES 2010
In addition, at Showstoppers CES 2010, SANYO will also unveil a full-size mock-up of its planned electric vehicle solar charging station. This will be the first time technology and consumer journalists will be able to see SANYO’s planned EV solar-charging station designed for all types of electric vehicles, including automobiles and eBikes.
The EV solar charging station features SANYO HIT® (Heterojunction with Intrinsic Thin-layer) Double bifacial solar panels, which offer the world’s highest energy conversion efficiency in practical size (100cm2 or more) crystalline silicon-type solar cells, capable of generating up to 30 percent more power than single-side solar panels. {NOTE: Journalists will be able to see SANYO’s electric vehicle solar charging station only at CES 2010 at the Showstoppers media reception on January 7.}
Journalists unable to attend Showstoppers will be able see SANYO’s eneloop bicycle at CES 2010 in Meeting Room #242 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center and at the Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase in the Grand Lobby of the LVCC. SANYO executives are available at CES 2010 for on-site briefings and interviews regarding the eneloop bike and plans for the EV solar charging station. Journalists interested in scheduling an outdoor demo ride of SANYO’s eneloop bike or meeting with SANYO execs at CES 2010 should contact David Politis of Politis Communications at [email protected], 801-523-3730 ext. 11 (work) or 801-556-8184 (cell).
SANYO’s award-winning eneloop bike is a 26-inch, three-speed regenerative, pedal-assist hybrid electric bicycle. As such, riders can propel the eneloop bike under their own power or can engage the bike’s motor and electrical system to pedal in one of three assist modes – standard, power-up or auto – where the front hub-based motor helps the bicycle and rider travel forward.
The eneloop bike “Synergetic Hybrid Bicycle” (Model # CY-SPA600NA) is a part of the SANYO ‘eneloop universe,’ a series of products that are based on the concept of reusing resources such as “energy” by “looping” it in a sustainable cycle. The concept was first shown as SANYO announced the ‘eneloop’ rechargeable battery in 2005 and has grown to include a number of award-winning products.
At a suggested retail price of $2,299.95, the eneloop bike embodies SANYO strengths and combines both its rechargeable battery and battery systems’ technologies with its concept of preserving and promoting a sustainable environment, whether at work or leisure.
