ACC Commissions Wind Energy plant near Satara in Maharashtra (India)

This wind power project was set up at a cost of about Rs 13 crores. Power generated from Satara wind farm will be supplied through a wheeling arrangement to ACC Thane Complex at Thane and Bulk Cement Corporation (India) Limited (BCCI), a subsidiary of ACC located at Kalamboli near Mumbai.

Wind power generation will satisfy 70% of electricity requirement at ACC Thane Complex and 64% at BCCI Kalamboli.

The Satara region of Maharashtra enjoys sufficient wind speed for several months of the year and is thus a good location to setup a wind energy plant.

ACC now has a total wind power capacity of 19 MW — 9 MW in Tamil Nadu, 7.5 MW in Rajasthan and 2.5 MW in Maharashtra.

This is another significant step in ACC’s pursuit to generate clean renewable environment-friendly energy, as part of its sustainability agenda.

The stock closed the day at Rs.957.30, down by Rs.4.55 or 0.47%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.973.95 and low of Rs.954.20.

The total traded quantity was 54076 compared to 2 week average of 69918.
