Wind Energy America Inc. Advances Interconnection Request for Wyoming Wind Farm

WEA anticipates on the continued progress on several development milestones including permitting, interconnection and power purchase agreement negotiations over the next several months.

The wind farm will be capable of generating enough power (approximately 600 million kilowatt-hours annually) to serve about 60,000 homes.

Wind Energy America Inc. is one of the few publicly traded companies exclusively operating and developing renewable, utility scale, wind energy.

Through wholly-owned subsidiaries, WEA owns developer’s interests in three wind farms on Buffalo Ridge in southwest Minnesota which contain 79 wind turbines totaling 53.46 MW.

WEA has commissioned 2.0 MW of its 4.0 MW wind farm project in Osceola County, Iowa. It expects to commission the remaining 2.0 MW and its 1.6 MW project in Lincoln County, Minnesota in the next few months.

WEA has three other active requests for interconnection of new wind energy generation facilities to the electric grid in Minnesota, in addition to Weston Wind I. The Company also continues its work assessing the feasibility of various wind power project opportunities throughout the U.S.
