Dominican Republic can generate 10,000 MW from wind power

The expert said taking into account the around 3,000 megawatts currently generated with conventional and expensive fuels, wind turbines generation would be a great alternative for savings and a cleaner environment.

Alvarez, interviewed on Telemicro by Domingo Pilan and Persio Maldonado, said to install that type of wind farm energy infrastructure being used in many countries the necessary funds must be acquired from international organisms.

He said investment in and production of wind energy is much more feasible than other alternatives. “Wind energy is less expensive than energy produced from the sun,” though with one problem which is to secure financing.
