EDF Energies Nouvelles finalises the commissioning of 46 MW wind energy capacity in Greece

Continuing its expansion in the European wind power segment, EDF Energies Nouvelles (Paris:EEN) announces the commissioning of the wind farms of Fokida 2, back in September 2010, and Fokida 3, both with an installed wind turbines capacity of 23 MW.

Located in central Greece just a few kilometres apart, these two wind farms have ten wind turbines each, supplied by German manufacturer Enercon. Fokida 2 wind farm has been in service since September 2010.

Fokida 2 and Fokida 3 wind farm facilities are 97.8%-owned by the EDF Energies Nouvelles group via its Greek subsidiary EDF EN Greece.

Following the commissioning of the Skopies wind farm (18 MW) in March 2010, these represent the ninth and tenth projects completed by EDF Energies Nouvelles in Greece. A major player in the Greek wind energy industry since 2005, the Group boasts a total gross installed capacity of 251.4 MW.

With operations in Europe and North America, EDF Energies Nouvelles is a market leader in green electricity production. With a development focused on wind energy for several years and more recently on solar photovoltaic, the Group is also present in other segments of the renewable energies market: small hydro, marine energy, biomass, biofuel and biogas. In addition, the Group is expanding in the distributed renewable energies sector.

EDF Energies Nouvelles, 50 %-owned by the EDF Group, is listed in Euronext Paris since November 2006 (code "EEN", ISIN code: FR0010400143).
