Saudi Arabia advances its solar ambitions by prequalifying 23 major companies for 3.7GW photovoltaic projects

This round covers four solar photovoltaic (PV) Independent Power Plant (IPP) projects totalling 3,700 megawatts (MW).

The Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) has revealed the qualification of 23 firms for Round 5 of the National Renewable Energy Programme (NREP).

This round covers four solar photovoltaic (PV) Independent Power Plant (IPP) projects totalling 3,700 megawatts (MW).

Notable projects include the 2,000MW Al-Sadawi IPP in the Eastern province and the 1,000MW Al-Masaa IPP in the North-Western Hail region.

Among the prequalified companies, 18 have been selected in the managing and technical member category, underlining Saudi Arabia’s commitment to renewable energy advancement.
