Second Wind Pledges to Support President Obama’s Clean Energy Goal

President Obama’s proposed Clean Energy Standard sets a goal of generating 80 percent of U.S. electricity from clean energy sources, including wind energy, by 2035. Second Wind is already responding to this challenge in 2011 with aggressive hiring and the formal opening of its new manufacturing plant in Newton, Mass., which will help triple the company’s workforce by 2014. Second Wind is committed to keeping its manufacturing operation in the U.S. and exports wind measurement technology products to China, India, Europe, and Africa. The company’s exports to China alone tripled in 2010 and are expected to continue increasing, with the recent launch of Second Wind’s Triton Sonic Wind Profiler in the Chinese market by Beijing New Energy Technology.
