Production rose from just 3 MW in 2001 to 1070 MW in 2007 and for 2008 the estimates vary between 2.3 and 2.9 GW. For 2009, capacity increases to 8.9 GW have been announced, whereas the figure stands at 12.3 GW for 2010.
